I’m a sucker for a good cover song. I spend hours wading through the trash heap of YouTube videos listening to a lot (a lot) of god-awful cover songs of blank-faced teenagers staring into the green lights of their MacBook iSight cameras (they’re called FaceTime cameras now aren’t they?) recording their chicken scratch attempts at Lady Gaga and Adele tunes (Parents, it’s ok to suggest new hobbies to your children), desperately searching for those few (very few) YouTubers who will blow me away.

Mree blows me away.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video. Each time, her cover of “Blood” moves me. It’s really incredible. If you’ve got the time, peruse through her videos, she’s got a pretty great medley of Bon Iver songs too.

Periodically, I’ll be putting up YouTube cover songs as I come across some good ones.
